Valerie René Sheppard as been acting on and off since she was 3 years old, and is currently on radical sabbatical from her 25-year marketing career to pursue her passion for acting full-time. Valerie is described as a dynamic, versatile, thinking actor who takes direction well. Since leaving corporate life in June 2006, she has landed roles in television, film, industrials and commercials. Her latest completed film roles were leads in two shorts entitled “Ladies and Gentlemen, We are Floating in Space,” and “Away From Home.” She is an ongoing correspondent for the USStream.TV weekly “Prepare for Love.” As recurring guest star Mail Carrier Carla, Valerie is a member of the 2007 Emmy-nominated cast of the Discovery Kids series “Hip Hop Harry.” She also played the guest role of Cat in the successful direct-to-DVD children’s series “The Wheels on the Bus.” Valerie has also done volunteer voice over work for non-profit organizations.

She has trained for over 20 years in workshops and intensives in 5 states, including a 2-week intensive at the Bali Conservatory in 2008, and a 4-week intensive in 2006 at the School for Film and Television in New York, which she attended as a scholarship recipient. For the past three years, she has been a regular member of The Actors Room, an advanced television and film workshop. She also studies with Kirk Baltz of The Actors Intensive, and at The Acting Center with David Palladino and others. She is represented by Judy Belshe of American Rascals Talent. A native of Virginia, Valerie is the daughter of a career U. S. Marine, has lived in 10 States and traveled to more than 20 countries.
