Valerie has been cast in a supporting role in an upcoming full-length feature film slated to begin shooting in The Philippines in February 2009. The film, Jungle Prince, was written by Steven G. Lowe of Last Chance Productions, which will also be co-producing the project.

Valerie celebrated her birthday on October 2nd. On that day, she also participated in a nationwide attempt to set a world record for the most people participating in a shared reading event. The event, called Read for the Record , was sponsored by Jump Start as part of its ongoing literacy effort. Readers from all walks of life across the country went to elementary schools and other venues to read aloud a special edition of the book "Corduroy" to children. Valerie was featured in a story about the event in the Orange County Record. More than 450,000 participants we recorded, and the event is slated to appear in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On September 19th, Valerie hosted the live "Fun and Fashion Charity Fashion Show" produced by Last Chance Productions and The Anaheim White House restaurant. Special guests included members of the Gold Medal-winning Men's Olympic Volleyball Team. Photos and video of the event are still being edited, but some coverage is available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/vvkphoto/sets/72157607539266111/ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSm8hUi4opc.
