I am a believer in finding commonality as a way of creating more peace and joy in our experiences.  I’m always amazed at how many preferences I share with people who on the surface, appear to be very different from me.   So I’m wondering how many things you and I have in common.  Here is a list of some of my favorite things…let me know what resonates with you.  : )

SPIRITUAL TRANSFORMATION Of course this would be at the top of the list.  Without this investment in knowing and growing myself, I’d be less grounded, happy, content, inspired, and peaceful.  I’m grateful for all the spiritual teachers who’ve touched and helped me open my heart to the Divine Truth of who I am, thereby making my vibrant life possible!  I am Happy to Be ME!

FOOD Glorious Food! I am a major foodie.  I especially enjoy eating out and exploring different types of cuisine.  In fact, I’d prefer to eat a different cuisine every day.  My favorites are Vietnamese, Indian, Ethiopian, Thai and Japanese (sushi any day of the week!).  Yes, I’m one of those people who plans her days on vacation around the meals, much to the chagrin of some of my travel buddies.   I’m pretty handy in the kitchen and cook mostly from taste and adventure — recipes are just guidelines.  I also like breakfast foods at dinner and dinner foods for breakfast (yes leftover pizza, but also a nice piece of fresh pan-fried fish, and spaghetti).

Red Wine… with an emphasis on Chateauneuf du Pape, Malbec, Meritage, and big bold Cabs.

Champagne… yes the real stuff, which means it’s not from California.   Taittinger my friends.  Taittinger.  Enough said.

Oysters… Forest Gump style…meaning fried, steamed, on the halfshell, in stew, rockefeller, in stuffing, in a shot of vodka (Absolute Citron if you please), smoked, alone, on a platter, and just about any other way they come.

Big dogs. Not feet –  the barking kind.  Over 50 pounds, fluffy and very social are my favorite characteristics, so breeds like Golden Retrievers are at the top of the list.  I miss my Maggie Mae terribly, and when things settle down a little more, I’ll welcome another companion into my heart and my home.

Quality time with quality people. Full stop.

Travel… global, frequent, and to places off the beaten path.  I’ve been to 27 countries now, and still have lots of ‘must see’ places on my list, including Tahiti, The Seychelles Islands, Portugal, Malawi, Egypt, Morocco, Peru, New Zealand, Cuba and Viet Nam.  Have passport, will travel again and again and again.  I’m looking forward to our first The Heart of Living Vibrantly™ Sacred Places Excursion!

Suspense and adventure fiction… I love trying to sort out the who-dun-it before I get to the end (no I don’t read the end first — I just use my power of deduction and see if I can connect the dots).  I’m a fan of James Patterson, John Grisham, Agatha Christie Diana Gabaldon and many others!

Cozy moments by the fireplace… with a quality person, sipping a Chateauneuf du Pape and sampling some oysters of course!

Large bodies of water… preferably turquoise blue lapping onto a white sand beach.

Sleeping in… which is hard to do at home because I don’t have black-out curtains.  So the sunlight usually makes me feel like I need to get up-and-at-em.  I kept one of those masks they give you on overnight trans-Atlantic flights and when I’m really in need, I sleep with on to keep it as dark as possible for as long as possible.

Sports… rugby, auto racing, football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, billiards, darts, poker…and the list goes on.  Just about anything competitive and I’m at least a little interested. And yes, I’m a good sport, win or lose!
